Training & Research
50 lessons. 15 tools. 13 languages. Introducing the revamped News Lab Training Centre.
We’re excited to announce our revamped Training Centre at g.co/newslab, which now hosts more than 50 individual lessons. From Google Maps to Fusion Tables to Google Trends and more, the lessons are presented in a low-bandwidth, card-based format that is mobile friendly and designed to meet the needs of busy journalists looking for quick answers.
Research initiatives include:
- A re-built Google Trends platform, based on feedback from journalists from newsrooms around the world, with increases in the depth, breadth and speed of available data.
- An expanded Reuters Institute Digital News Report into news consumption and user behaviour across Europe, covering 20 countries.
- Funding for academic research into computational journalism including disciplines such as computer-assisted reporting, crowd-sourcing and data-driven insights.
- Extending the Google Journalism Fellowship programme to Europe.
Details of further initiatives will be posted to this website over time.
